Government signals ₹4,000–5,000 retrofit path for older diesel trucks and buses

Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said BS-III and BS-IV diesel trucks and buses could be fitted with an IIT Delhi-developed emissions device once AIS 228 standards are notified. The device is claimed to cut particulate matter by 90% and nitrogen oxides by 60%, complementing vehicle scrappage efforts.
