Maharashtra orders shutdown of Ola, Uber, Rapido bike taxis; cyber police asked to file FIRs
Transport minister Sarnaik has directed cyber police to halt bike taxi operations by Ola, Uber and Rapido across Maharashtra and register FIRs, citing safety lapses, missing approvals and EV non-compliance. The move follows March 2025 revocation of provisional MMR licences, extending a regulatory squeeze that began with the Jan 2023 ban and July 2024 rules.
