Google Fitbit is likely to keep Fitbit Edge out of India this festive season, leaving Fitbit Air alone.

For operators

Don't plan festive-season Fitbit Edge stock or promotions in India, since pricing and availability are unannounced; build Google wearable displays and bundles around the screenless Fitbit Air, the only affordable Google tracker on offer, and prepare staff for shoppers asking about the $179 Edge (retail from 27 October).

Watch

An India price or launch date for Fitbit Edge before the 27 October retail start would mean Google is chasing festive demand and Fitbit Air stops being the only option.

The report: Google prices Fitbit Edge at $179, on retail shelves 27 October; India launch unannounced, Fitbit Air only option

Google Fitbit is taking Edge pre-orders ahead of retail sales. It has not announced India availability or pricing. The screenless Fitbit Air, already released in India, is the only affordable Google tracker for Indian buyers this festive season.
