Royaloak's new Value Stores post Rs 27 lakh (Kadur) and Rs 25 lakh (Sira) in first-month sales in smaller Indian towns
Our read
Royaloak's Value Stores in Kadur (Rs 27 lakh) and Sira (Rs 25 lakh) show that a 4,000 to 5,550 sq ft format can draw strong first-month sales in Tier II and III towns, so operators in smaller markets should expect more organized furniture competition.

The counter-case
The case against this reading — not reported by the source.
The two numbers are first-month sales, which are the least reliable point in a store's life. Launch-month sales usually include opening-offer discounts, pent-up local curiosity, and heavy promotion, and they tend to fade. Rs 27 lakh at Kadur and Rs 25 lakh at Sira say little about run-rate sales, same-store growth, or whether these stores will pay back. The deck also gives no margin, capex, rent, or inventory figures. Furniture is a high-ticket, deferrable purchase, so demand in small towns can be lumpy and sensitive to rural incomes, credit availability, and the wedding and festival calendar. Seven Value Stores in ten months is also a small base. Only two stores have reported figures, and they may be the best performers. Against a network of more than 200 stores, the format is still unproven and could add complexity and distract from the core large-format business.
