Titan is likely to keep scaling CaratLane stores as click-try-buy forces rivals to match its pace.
For operators
Click-try-buy is now standard in jewellery, with CaratLane at 394 stores (Sep'26) and Bluestone at 340 (FY26), so stores plus an online try-at-home flow is the benchmark to match, and Bluestone's repeat-customer share of ~55% of sales (up from ~32% in FY22) shows what retention can look like.

The counter-case
The case against this reading — not reported by the source.
This is store-count growth, not proof that omnichannel works. Digital-first brands like Bluestone and CaratLane are adding physical stores because jewellery is a high-trust, touch-and-feel purchase that online alone does not convert. The headline therefore describes a retreat from pure online as much as a click-try-buy win. The 394 vs 340 comparison is also not like-for-like: CaratLane's figure is dated Sep'26 and Bluestone's is FY26, so the gap is partly timing. The ~55% repeat-sales figure (up from ~32% in FY22) looks flattering but may reflect a small FY22 base, a loose definition of 'repeat' (for example gold exchange or upgrade purchases tied to stores), and rupee sales inflated by high gold prices. The headline names Kalyan's Candere, but the deck gives no Candere data, so that part is unsupported. Everything rests on one broker report (ICICI Securities), and a high repeat share says nothing about profitability, which is the real test for Bluestone's FY26 revenue of ₹24 billion.
